IFMiB’s Commenter of the Week: Badhedgehog!

Badhedgehog* is another wonderful example of the only kind of commenter who should be allowed to click the “leave a comment” button. Funny. SHARP. Cheeky and wonderfully irreverent. She makes us laugh and think, like a James L. Brooks movie. And if she were in fact a James L. Brooks movie, hands down she’d be BROADCAST NEWS, which is my favorite!

• “Sade gets accused of being yuppie background music, tied in with a bunch of other images ‘n’ tropes of the mid 80s UK yuppie thing: London wine bars, stripped pine furniture, suits, dinner parties. It seems to be quite a strong association. On the other hand, people who* get Sade tend to** see her as on of the great artists who always come out with a great album so it doesn’t matter that you wait 10 years for them to make one (see also, Kate Bush).”

Compare the kick-’em-when-they’re-down approach of celeb gossip magazines (print and online) and the good old UK tabloids (heaps of stories with headlines like MY DRINK HELL, MY DRUG AND BOOZE SHAME) and of course the “true story” magazines (photos sometimes posed by models).
